Lockers Park is a day pre-prep school for girls and boys aged 4-7 and a day and boarding prep school for boys aged 7-13. In spite of its striking Victorian frontage, once you step inside, it feels more like a family home than a school. It is set in 23 acres of parkland and woodland, and once you are here you could be in the middle of the countryside, even though it is close to the M1 and the centre of Hemel Hempstead town centre and railway station.

Can you remember being the age of your Pre-Prep children? What are your memories of school when you were their age?

St Francis’ College is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 3-18 in Letchworth Garden City. St Francis’ College is in a building that typifies Letchworth: attractive, thoughtfully designed and solidly built; in a safe and very green residential environment, but at the same time less than 10 minutes’ walk into town. It’s ten minutes from Junction 9 on the A1, and roughly an equal distance between London and Cambridge.
