Tom Cruise touches down in town
This is not a drill ladies... the real Mr Cruise has touched down in Beds. Be still our beating hearts. Find out where and why, plus more celeb goss right here.
Ladies, it’s true. The real Mr Cruise is right here in Bedfordshire – his helicopter touched down in a field in Heath and Reach near Leighton Buzzard last week. Swwooon! He’s filming Mission Impossible 7 (yes, there really have been that many) in a local sand quarry – ooh the glamour!
It’s all being shot after dark, so you’ll have to be stealthy to catch a glimpse but a few star-struck locals and quarry workers managed to pin him down for some socially-distanced selfies and commented on what a gent he was.
And when local football team, Woburn and Wavenden, felt a bit miffed about being chucked out of their sports ground to make way for the film crew, Mr Cruise immediately swooped in to sign some shirts and win them all over. The team are going to auction them off to help with their crowdfunding campaign. Aww, well done Tom!
Meanwhile, you might have spotted a mini funfair pop up in Gadebridge Park, Hemel Hempstead and a familiar face hanging around the Old Town. The funfair’s not open to the public, but part of the set of After Life – and Ricky Gervais is currently filming series 3 right here in Herts.
Gervais fans have been pretty chuffed to catch a glimpse of the funny man in their neck of the woods and even the local fuzz got in on the action!
