Wouldn’t You Though?
Even if you’re not a sewing person — and I’m definitely not — you can’t help but love the exquisitely vintage look of these stunning bits and bobs from Merchant & Mills.
Actually, they’re not ‘bits and bobs.’ I came across them at Fabric HQ, who have just started stocking them, and they’re ‘notions’ — which sounds much fancier and neatly old-fashioned at the same time.
Aren’t they gorgeous, though? And if you’ve got crafty folk to buy for this Christmas, they would make brilliant gifts. The packaging, the quality, the lot — they’re beautiful to look at and (so I’m told…) lovely to use.
I just love the styling, and the fact they’re practical too is just the icing on the cake. Why have some scrappy leatherette sewing kit (like I have tucked away somewhere for emergencies) when you can have a funky little tin with a ‘Rapid Repair Kit’ that looks this good?
The photos are great, but you really have to see them for real to appreciate what little works of art they are. Their ‘Entymology Pins’ — super-fine pins that beg you to ‘spare the butterflies’ — look almost too delicate to use but are as strong as anything.
Only thing is, last time I checked at FabriqHQ they were selling like hot flippin’ cakes. If you fancy something, you can always email them to check — or get them to save something for you. (They’re oh-so-friendly and obliging there.)
