Casita Bonita

Casita Bonita is a fantastic homewares, gifts and jewellery shop in Ware selling unique, handcrafted products imported from Mexico. Everything is sourced from talented artisans who design, create and hand-finish these stunning items in their homes and factories across Mexico.

One of the highlights of the shop is the fabulous selection of silver jewellery. Mexico boasts the purest, highest quality silver in the world, and much of Casita Bonita’s exquisite range is set with semi-precious stones such as turquoise, moonstone, malachite and lapis lazuli. The necklaces, earrings, bangles, bracelets, pendants, rings and cuffs are all sourced from Taxco, a small mountainous town in the State of Guerrero, world-renowned for its quality of jewellery.

Casita Bonita’s homewares collection gives you the opportunity to add a splash of Mexican colour to your home. The huge range of beautiful products are hand-picked by the owner and sourced from small, family businesses in Mexico. Make sure you look out for the eye-catching vases, salad bowls and painted animals made in Mexican Talavera (a distinctive hand-painted, colourful pottery), the magnificent hand-blown glassware from Guadalajara and the gorgeous tiled mirrors.

Casita Bonita also sells Mexican cooking ingredients, including frijoles, hot sauces, mole and enchilada sauces, chillies and tomatillos, and much more. Each week, Casita Bonita is sharing an authentic, traditional recipe via its Facebook page to give you some inspiration for your Mexican cuisine.

Owner and local entrepreneur Brett Cahill is half-Mexican, with his mother’s family hailing from Merida in the Yucatan region of the country. This part of the country is steeped in history and renowned for its arts and crafts. Indeed, his mother and his uncle are both artists and their work will be on sale at Casita Bonita. If you are looking to transform your home or an outfit, or want to buy a loved one something unique, Casita Bonita’s impressive collection of homewares, jewellery and gifts is definitely worth a look.
