Returned to Glory
Muddy says: Returned to Glory transforms pre-loved furniture and accessories to make them even more desirable and ready for new homes. It’s double love!
Passionate about Ercol? Obsessed with vinyl? Or perhaps you’ve old pieces of furniture at home and you’re in need of the right kind of paint and advice to give them a new lease of life? Returned to Glory is an absolutely brilliant destination in Berkhamsted where pre-loved possessions are donated and then restored with love to be found by new owners and given a new home.
There are some great gifts here, including accessories made from offcuts of new fabric donated by the likes of Osborne and Little, made into bright and desirable bags by volunteers. The range of chalk based paint is by Autentico and you can sign up to do a workshop to learn about painting techniques. Other workshops include designing and making lampshades and upholstered benches. There’s a vinyl corner where you can hunker down with freshly brewed coffee and give some old records a spin – particularly good if you’ve got someone in tow who might need a sit down while you riffle through the amazing range of fabrics.
Keep an eye on the Returned to Glory’s Instagram page to see what’s in store. They also have a wish-list where you can write down your dreams and if these materialise, they’ll get in touch with you. As if all this were not enough, the icing on the cake is that all the profits from Returned to Glory are given to the Berkhamsted Hospice of St Francis. This is a story of sustainable and restorative bliss.
