Standalone Farm

Muddy says: Standalone Farm in Letchworth won Best Family Attraction in the Muddy Awards 2018. Well deserved!

If you’re looking for somewhere to take the kids that will burn off some energy, give them some fresh air and get some cute photos in the process, Standalone Farm is a very strong option.

Letchworth locals have been in on the secret for years – lots of mums and dads went there as children themselves! Tucked away on the edge of town, this is a traditional family farm with lots of animals to see, milking and feeding demonstrations, a fabulous playground, a café and special events during the school holidays. They’ve struck a great balance between an educational working farm and a fun, well-provisioned day out.

The lovely thing about Standalone Farm is how reasonable it is – under £25 for a family day ticket. At that price, you won’t mind a browse in the gift shop. There’s also an annual pass option for £75, to include admission all year for the family, including entry to special events in the school holidays. Standalone has kept it simple (no theme parks here!), and in doing so has kept it really charming.

The Farm also offers great children’s parties – let the Farm staff do the entertaining and the clearing up for you! The parties include entrance to the Farm, an animal handling session, time on the ever-popular mini tractors, lunch for the children in a decorated party barn and party bags. There’s one free adult ticket for every 2 children attending the party.

The Farm opens for a visitor season, so go to see the baby animals in spring, fill up summer holidays with special events, and grab a spot for the ever popular pumpkin carving before it closes up in November.
