The Russell Arms, Butlers Cross

Since 1784 villagers and visitors to Butlers Cross have enjoyed the inviting ambience of the Russell Arms. Situated a stonesthrow away from Ellesborough golf course, this pub blends the timeless appeal of a traditional 18th Century coach house with stylish contemporary features that ensure guests will enjoy a memorable visit. With an ample, open beer garden complete with a decked terrace and barbecue, working fire place and log burner, and regular entertainment the Russell Arms is very much a 21st Century pub equally inviting in summer and winter.

The drinks menu boasts an eclectic, ever-changing range of locally produced cask ales, eight global lagers, and thirst quenching ciders, as well as an impressive range of 17 Old World and New World wines by the glass, there is something available for anyone to savour. Our food menu offers an exceptional range of ingredients, sourced locally where possible, with an emphasis on the perfect blend of presentation, quality, and flavour. Head chef Dan combines his years of experience with passion for innovation and creativity to craft regular seasonal menus, to enable his team to get the best out of the produce the Chilterns have to offer.

The Russell Arms isn’t just about a cosy setting and fine food and drink; it offers a range of entertainment to give your evening that little extra something. Whether you enjoy accomplished jazz and acoustic music, a classic pub quiz, or a sumptuous summer barbecue there is always something to whet your appetite. Please check our Facebook page for more information on upcoming events, or for a more personal touch ask Alice, Tom, or any member of our team for further details.
