Water Lane

Exciting Innovation

Redesigned and refurbished, the new kids on the block, Water Lane Bar & Restaurant in historical Bishop’s Stortford brings you an exciting innovation. Popular because it’s got the London vibe! Situated over three floors with a stunning vaulted ceiling restaurant with mezzanine, purpose built kitchen and a scrubbed atmospheric vaulted cellar bar. The renovation has brought the 18th century building, former Hawkes Brewery, back to life. Open 7 days a week, with lots of dining options including a ‘Bottomless Brunch’ on Sundays from 10am – a big breakfast, add unending Prosecco, Bloody Mary, selected juices, tea, coffee and toast for an extra £15 – treat yourself, you deserve it. The Cellar bar is good to meet friends for pre dinner drinks or enjoy a cocktail or two.  See website for live music events.

Good Honest British Food

Their passion is to serve good honest British food and give you the best possible food on your plate. Using fresh local ingredients everything is made in house. They value the relationships with local butchers who supply mouth-watering steaks, ribs and the best burgers and fish and shellfish is sourced from their fishermen friends in Brancaster Staithe, north Norfolk. Sunday roasts with Chef’s delicious ‘yorkies’ are the best. There’s nothing nicer than to meet with friends and family to enjoy a traditional roast and we keep the kids entertained with a strolling magician.
