Woolly Chic sells a beautiful range of 100% British wool and unique Crochet & Knitting Kits designed by Helen Ingram.
The kits are quick and easy to make and are a great introduction to the rewarding crafts of crochet and knitting. They make perfect gifts for creative friends.
Our yarn is produced from the fleece of sheep farmed on Helen’sAunt’s farm in Pembrokeshire Wales. Our yarn is spun and dyed in Yorkshire and we are extremely proud to support British farmers and the British wool industry.
A Mum of three young children who has always loved making things, Helen set up Woolly Chic and turned what was a hobby of crochet and a love of everything woolly into a business selling her designs, sharing her skills and encouraging others to learn a new craft.
It is wonderful that over the last few years there has been a revival in people wanting to make things themselves and crafts like knitting and crochet have become once again popular pastimes. Helen teaches crochet and runs a weekly crochet group in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. For more information on workshops and the Crochet and Cake group visit our website.
“I love it when I am teaching someone how to crochet or demonstrating how to do a particular crochet stitch and I can see that they are realising all the wonderful things they could make and that crochet is not as difficult as it looks!”
Helen’s Aunt, Uncle and Cousin have a sheep farm in Pembrokeshire, Wales with a flock of approximately 450 Poll Dorset and Ryland sheep. The wool contained in many of the kits comes from these sheep.
The Sheep Tea Cosy is our most popular crochet kit and one that most represents Woolly Chic. Helen was inspired by the Sheep that gave their fleece for the yarn and created a cute loopy crochet tea cosy!
