Have you tried the grazing craze?

Forget three courses, the hot (or should we say cold?!) foodie trend right now is grazing - rustic boards, platters and tables laden with sweet and savoury treats designed to share over a glass of something chilled. Here's where to give it a go in Herts & Beds.

Whether you’re in the mood for a lazy brunch, girls’ night out, indulgent night in, or you’re planning a party or gathering, grazing is the new answer to all your foodie prayers. No more menu planning or order envy – with this social eating trend, sharing is the name of the game. Try a bit of everything and keep going back for more… and more! Throw in a mimosa or a macchiato and you’re winning at life. Wanna try it? Read on.

Bite Around the World, Hitchin

This Muddy Award Winning food producer is inspired by cuisines and cultures from all over the world, combining founders, Lauren and Toby’s two passions – travelling and food! Their boxes and platters for 1-8 people come ready to eat with fresh salads, fruit, sliced meats, cheeses and more for fuss-free socialising. Collect from Hitchin or for book for delivery in Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock, Stevenage and surrounding villages. Having a bigger gathering? They can do a grazing table for 12-300+ people. Menus include Mediterannean, South East Asian, Best of British, Mini (for kids) and more.

The Lounge by Graze Life, Berkhamsted

Graze Life started out in 2019 as a catering company but opened its first bricks and mortar grazing and wine bar last year on bustling Berkhamsted High Street. It specialises in brunch, tapas and afternoon tea boards. Book a table or exclusive hire and check out their regular events, from supper clubs to bottomless brunches and… get this… monthly R&B nights! We’ll see you there, sister!

BettyAnn Grazing, Herts, Beds and Bucks

Set up by two friends in 2020 to bring the grazing experience to the local area they have a simple and delicious offering of ploughman’s style boxes of deli meats, cheeses, pickles, fruit, veg and sweet treats. There are veggie, gluten free, indiidual, fruit and pastry-based boxes, or go bespoke and choose your nibbles yourself. They also do grazing tables for 6+ people, starting at 1/2 meter diameter platters, as well as cute canape cups for events. Thy deliver to most of Herts, Beds and Bucks, or you can collect from Aylesbury or Pitstone.

Giggle and Graze, Leighton Buzzard

Pop in to this cute grazing café for coffee and cake or pre-book a brunch, afternoon tea, savoury or cheese board. You can also order bespoke boxes for collection or delivery (free within Leighton Buzzard!), with personalised iced biscuits for one person or more – great alternative to a bunch of flowers or box of chocs for a special occasion – or grazing boards for six. They can also cater for events with their grazing tables, beautifully decorated with flowers and foliage (and loads of food!) for a minimum of 15 people.

Graze by the Deli, Ampthill

Run by Ampthill Deli and Kitchen, Graze by the Deli boxes include scrumptious sweet options including meringue, cookie and brownie platters, veggie graze boxes, ploughmans platters and more. They can also do bespoke platters and grazing cups for events. Give them a call to find out more.

Fig and Wine, St Albans

Catering for small, private dos (think cosy night in for two!), to weddings (including cheese wedding cakes!) and corporate events, Fig and Wine’s gorgeous platters are ideal for all appetites – I mean you can eat as little or as much as you want! Plus they use locally souced products where possible and they’ll bring the booze too (win!), from just £19.50 per head.

The Bountiful Table, Bedford

Bedfordshire’s original grazing experience is all about bringing people together through food (we approve!) From their Platinum Jubilee Platter, packed to the brim with all things British – think scones and Scotch eggs to strawberries and Prosecco – to gourmet antipasti boxes, they’ve got all tastes covered. This family-run business takes its inspo from Down Under,(apparently we’ve got the Aussies to thank for this trend!) has ten years of catering experience. They can even do kids’ parties and at Christmas they donate some of their profits to platters to the Paramedics – how brilliant!
