Wardrobe busting at the sides with a lockdown’s worth of trackies? Increase the size of your closet space – or any space – with a bespoke Danish-made system from this Herts-based designer.
Now’s the time to get your spring wardrobe in shape. No, not the clothes (though those threadbare trackie bottoms could take a jog to the bin). We’re talking the clean lines, cool looks and super-efficient Danish-designed wardrobe systems from Nørdikka.
I’ll admit it. There’s not much that gives me more pleasure than a very organised, extremely tidy closet (Friends’ Monika has nothing on me). And I’m clearly not alone in my appreciation for all things shipshape, as Nørdikka has found itself a loyal Herts following.
Based in Brookman’s Park, their bespoke wardrobes and interiors are created and adapted to fit even the oddest of rooms, regardless of ridiculous angles or sharply sloping ceilings. And, using the efficiency those lovely Danes are known for, they squeeze the last cubic centimetre out of every design. Each product is made to order, nothing is off the shelf. When it comes to handholding, they can look after the whole caboodle, from the design and supply to installation. Or, they can simply provide you with the perfect wardrobe doors for your wonky-ceilinged room. It’s up to you.
Founder Joanna Majewski started up Nørdikka because she’d fallen victim to finding a home with her bedroom in the eaves. All very characterful, but not when you’re trying to find sliding doors for an L-shaped wardrobe. Fortunately, she bumped into an old boss, a high-end German kitchen manufacturer who was working with one of the leading Danish wardrobe and interior solution designers. They got chatting, he supplied her wardrobes that fitted perfectly and she offered to represent his product in the UK. That was in 2015 and since then Nørdikka has earned itself a reputation for clever and unique designs, and rather lovely customer service.
Although Nørdikka specialise in wardrobes, they can also create bespoke interiors and furniture for anything from a pantry and utility room to a home office and garage, or any other space you take a fancy too. This could get seriously addictive.
