Pendley Manor, Tring
A beautiful Grade-II listed Manor house-turned-hotel on the edges of the fashionable town of Tring.
There’s been a manor house on the grounds of Pendley for hundreds of years but the current Grade II listed neo-Jacobean manor house first took shape in the 1870s for the wealthy Williams family who resided there until 1940. It is now a glorious independently owned hotel, with a pool and spa, an award-winning restaurant and 84 individually decorated rooms and suites, which have just been refurbished.
So, not only is it the perfect location to host a wedding (it has nine function rooms), but also a fab location to spend an afternoon with friends in the spa, having an ESPA treatment or two. Or enjoy afternoon tea on the terrace basking in the sun, a picnic or barbeque in the gardens (in the company of the resident peacocks!), or a long, leisurely lunch in the Oak Restaurant; it has a 2 AA Rosette Star rating after all. Then, of course, there’s the annual open air Shakespeare festival in the estate’s amphitheatre, which brings in a cultured crowd on a yearly basis.
Nearby, Tring High Street is a lively hub, full of independent shops and eateries, and there are parks and attractions aplenty nearby – such as Tring Park, Tring’s National History Museum and Wendover Woods.
