Property Flirt: 1 Bromley Hall Cottages
Check out this beauty: a Grade II listed home, which has been brought bang-up-to-date, and is just now on the market. C’mon, let’s sneak a peek….
1 Bromley Hall Cottages is right next to the hamlet of Wellpond Green – isn’t that the sweetest name? – which is itself near Much Hadham and Standon. Still lost? The bigger towns within easy reach are Hertford and Bishop’s Stortford, which both have good transport links (as well as good stuff in town).
Wellpond Green is as pretty as it sounds – shady woodland, lovely houses, and so on. And this house is a picture-book one in immaculate condition and right in the country, with garden on three sides.
Check out the lovely light-filled kitchen and breakfast room, where you get to sit and look out over the back garden and terrace. (Hope they leave those stools….) Then there’s an open-plan dining room, with a beam-lined archway leading you in there. (How neat is that…?)
And as well as the little snug with its log burner (oh, the toastiness), there’s also a great big open living room, again with great big windows looking out over the garden.
Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms — 2 doubles and a single — and a family bathroom. And you can see the garden from every window, which would be very lovely to wake up to. I can almost hear those birdies singing already…
I’m totally won over by the gardens on this one, though. Although I’d need a Poldark-style chappie to keep the lawns under control which I sip my G’n’T on terrace, obviously.
So, what do you reckon? What’s the asking price on this gorgeous country cottage? Let me know what you think — and see if you’re right, right here.
