Mon 4 – Sun 10 Dec 2017
A Christmas Carol, Broadway Theatre, Letchworth, Weds 6 Dec
Vintage festive fun from The Fitzrovia Radio House and A Christmas Carol. It’s the Christmas tale told as a live 1940s-style studio recording. The troupe have played in venues including The Globe and Wilton’s Music Hall so it’s simply spiffing that they are coming to the Broadway Theatre, Letchworth on Wednesday. 7.30pm.
Handmade in Hitchin, The Barn, The Victoria, Thurs 7 Dec
This looks good. Hitchin is bursting with creativity and this is an evening where you can buy Christmas gifts from local designer makers. Paintings, jewellery and textiles. It’s taking place in the barn at the Victoria pub. 6pm.
Nicky Pritchard, Forever Green, Nettleden, Fri 8 and Sat 9 Dec
Nicky Pritchard is a hugely talented florist who works from her home and garden studio in Nettleden, near Hemel Hempstead. She also grows a lot of her own flowers. Her Forever Green workshops take place in her garden studio and the numbers are limited so you get lots of help and attention. You can choose from day or evening and there are quite a few dates during December. Lunch is included if you do a daytime workshop and in the evenings you can make a wreath and drink fizz at the same time. Bliss. £70. Fri 8, Sat 9, Thurs 14, Fri 15, Sat 16 Dec.
Omid Djalili Hertford Theatre, Fri 8 Dec
Gordon House, Paint to Print, Broadway Gallery, Letchworth, until 28 Jan 2018
Joglaresa is…I’m not sure exactly. It’s a romp, that much I can guarantee. With fidel, harp, bells, bagpipes, dulcimer and voices. Go on, where’s your sense of adventure?
The Box of Delights, Wilton’s Music Hall, until 6 Jan 2018
It’s The Box of Delights, starring Matthew Kelly, at Wilton’s, the world’s most beautiful music hall. I’ve just made that bit up, but if you haven’t been, it is an absolutely beautiful and atmospheric venue.
