Nicky Pritchard, Forever Green, Nettleden, Fri 8 and Sat 9 Dec
Nicky Pritchard is a hugely talented florist who works from her home and garden studio in Nettleden, near Hemel Hempstead. She also grows a lot of her own flowers. Her Forever Green workshops take place in her garden studio and the numbers are limited so you get lots of help and attention. You can choose from day or evening and there are quite a few dates during December. Lunch is included if you do a daytime workshop and in the evenings you can make a wreath and drink fizz at the same time. Bliss. £70. Fri 8, Sat 9, Thurs 14, Fri 15, Sat 16 Dec.
Late night shopping, Hermitage Road, Hichin, Sat 9 Dec
Hermitage Road in Hitchin has a fantastic community where all the independent shops support each other. On Saturday from 4pm – 8pm, there’s a late night opening and Christmassy party thing going on. Worth a visit if you don’t know Hitchin. There are so many good shops: Hermitage Rd & Co, the new art gallery Arkeley Fine Art, Gatefold Music, The Little Deli, Fab Gelato and more.
Joglaresa is…I’m not sure exactly. It’s a romp, that much I can guarantee. With fidel, harp, bells, bagpipes, dulcimer and voices. Go on, where’s your sense of adventure?
The Box of Delights, Wilton’s Music Hall, until 6 Jan 2018
It’s The Box of Delights, starring Matthew Kelly, at Wilton’s, the world’s most beautiful music hall. I’ve just made that bit up, but if you haven’t been, it is an absolutely beautiful and atmospheric venue.
