Moomins, Minions and more…
While it’s lovely to think that the summer hols will be a sunshine-soaked succession of picnics and playing in the park, chances are there might be some rainy days – or even some days that are just too hot to want to be outside all the time. (I know, I know, but it has been quite warm so far…)
I, for one, am pleased to see that Hertford Theatre is putting on a summer season on family films – and very reasonably-priced ones at just £4 a pop – just in case I need an afternoon of sitting in the dark, shovelling popcorn into my little lovelies and relishing the relative peace and quiet. I reckon £4 for a film is a total bargain, given how much you’ll pay at the multiplex. And, even better, you can pick up a loyalty passport and get your 4th film absolutely free. Result!
Not only that, but they’re organising some movie-themed bits and bobs to ramp up the family fun. They’re having a Moomin Party on Friday 31 July after the film, with games and food – and possibly a few special guests! They’ve hidden Minions round the theatre for you to find, and it’s all about dressing up as your favourite super-hero on Thursday 6th August.
They’ll be getting the train sets out for your little Thomas fan – and dinosaurs if Jurassic World is more their thing. There’s a sing-along showing of Frozen (let it go, already…) and a Paddington Picnic – complete with marmalade sandwiches, craft sessions and all sorts of activity sheets to keep your little ones happily occupied.
And, because they’re nice like that, Hertford Theatre is giving away a family cinema pass – four tickets to four films – to one lucky Muddy reader. It’s a great deal, and a good one to have in your back pocket just in case. No wonder you all voted them Best Theatre in the Muddy Herts Awards this year!
