New art gallery in St Albans
It’s good to see a new art gallery opening – so I was curious to check out Nude Tin Can who had their launch night earlier this week. It’s a neat little gallery in Fleetville, St Albans, and sounds like they’ve got some big plans for the future.
They kicked off with the first solo exhibition in this country by Russian artist Anastasia Russa – great big, strong paintings mixing images from mythology and legend all around the world.
Russa’s work is only there until 9 May, and the plan is to change the exhibition weekly. It’s the turn of Sarah Shaw next week, but I’m particularly looking forward to checking out Bizzy’s work when it arrives in a couple of weeks time.
They’re also keen to attract other artists – and they’ve got a couple of open submission calls at the moment.
Nude Tin Can used to be the pop-up M-Sieve, so it’s good to see they’ve found a more permanent home. Definitely worth popping in, and I’m looking forward to seeing where they go from here.
