Yes, I *am* looking more radiant….
I popped into the Lavender and Stone Beauty Rooms last week, tempted in by the fact they’re offering the brand spanking new Elemis Biotec facials – and the promise of radiant, luminous skin and no dark circles round the eyes was more than I could resist.
I’d been to Lavender and Stone’s in Harpenden before so was curious to see, too, how the Bushey Heath branch compared. It’s bang slap on the busy High Road, and parking took a bit of finding (there’s one over the road, but I missed it on my first drive past), but – seriously – the minute you walk through that door, you could be miles from anywhere. It’s calm and bright and very welcoming. The little shop front hides a Tardis-like salon, too, with 4 treatment rooms on the ground floor alone – and 2 more floors above that.
The Biotec facials are new to Elemis, so Lavender and Stone have a bit of deal on them at the moment. Book in September – better get a wiggle on – and you’ll pay £20 less than you will any other time, and you get a rather lovely little bag of Elemis goodies to take away with you. I love that sort of thing – although I do have to fight my daughter off when I get home. (“They’re only for grown-ups, lovely. I said, only for grown-ups… Oh, go on then. Just a little bit…”)
Megan, who has the most gorgeous skin herself, did a fab job of checking out my skin, asking about my *ahem* skin care routine (does a quick scrub in the shower count?), and working out which of the six would suit me. We plumped for the Sonic Skin-Radiance Facial – which is all about sorting out tired eyes and stressed-out skin. (I was clearly looking my best that morning…. *sniff*)
The facial combines the usual hands-on stuff with some hi-tech bits and bobs to sort you out properly. Megan used the ‘radiance activator’ – because, heaven knows, my radiance needs a little activating – which uses ultrasonic vibrations to draw out all the nasties and exfoliate good and deep, as well as the galvanic rollers, with an elderberry and orange flower extract (which sound like something that would be nice with gin, I thought).
You know what? I definitely noticed a difference. And as the day went on, I was more and more aware that my skin felt really good – all plump and lovely. Radiant, even. And all along my jawline, which (sigh…) might just be starting to sag the tiniest bit, it felt all toned and lovely. Even a few days on, after some seriously late nights and busy days, I’m still noticing a difference.
You’ll have to get a wiggle on if you want to take advantage of the offer and the gift bag, but the treatments are available at all the Lavender and Stone locations in Herts and Bucks. You’ve got until the end of the month to book in. And they’re so worth squeezing in. Go on. They’re new. It’s raining. Treat yourself.
