Just teetering on the border of Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, nestled within Wyboston Lakes’ 380-acre resort is The Waterfront Hotel and Spa. Refurbished in January 2022, the hotel has an idyllic lakeside spot, as well as a perfectly preened 18-hole golf course – lovely for a stroll even if your swing isn’t up to much

The rooms range from Superior to Suite, all with King or Super King-size beds, stylish décor, flatscreen TVs and luxe toiletries. The Deluxe Rooms include rainfall showers and complimentary hire of electricals, like GHD straighteners (one less thing to pack then!), while the Wyboston Suite features all of the above plus has bags of space, including a lounge and dining area, so you can make yourself at home if you’re planning to stay a few nights.

While you’re there make sure you pay a visit to the Y Spa – a luxuriously pampering space with an outdoor hydrotherapy pool, two saunas, two steam rooms, experience showers, a frost wall and three relaxation areas. There are masses of experiences on the menu from Elemis facials and Neom body treatments to Mii nails manis, as well as Y Spa signature treatments, to a range of day and overnight packages. And you can enjoy lunch in the spa café bistro. If you’re feeling particularly virtuous you can go and burn off some calories at the 1 Life Health and Leisure Centre, just opposite the hotel.

If all that exercising/relaxing (delete as appropriate) makes you hungry, book a table at The Gravel Pit Brasserie and Bar, where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and light bites. One thing’s for sure, you won’t go hungry.
