Hankering for Sunday lunch? <p>Biggleswade&#8217;s biggest claim to fame has got to be the <a aria-label="Shuttleworth Collection (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.shuttleworth.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Shuttleworth Collection</a> – a collection of vintage aircraft based on the pretty Shuttleworth Estate. There are regular airshows and other events, plus the Swiss Garden plays host to theatre and musical performances in the summer months. Also for families, there&#8217;s <a aria-label="Herring's Green Activity Farm (opens in a new tab)" href="https://birdsofpreycentre.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Herring&#8217;s Green Activity Farm</a> and bird of prey centre, and <a aria-label="Jordans Mill  (opens in a new tab)" href="https://jordansmill.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jordans Mill </a>&#8211; a historic flour mill with a musuem, shop and café. Oh, and did we mention there&#8217;s a vineyard?! Yes, <a aria-label="Warden Abbey (opens in a new tab)" href="https://wardenvineyard.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Warden Abbey Vineyard</a> is a community run winery that you can visit and, of course, purchase, from. Also, <a href="https://www.moggerhangerpark.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Moggerhanger Park</a> isn&#8217;t far away for a visit– a Grade I-listed house with lovely walks around the grounds, play area and woodland trail. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-best-kept-secret">BEST KEPT SECRET</h2>



<p>An Anglo Saxon coin was discovered on the River Ivel footpath in Biggleswade (a known Saxon settlement) in 2001 – only the eighth of its kind. It was bought by the British Museum in 2006 for over £350,000. Get that metal detector out! </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-commute">COMMUTE</h2>



<p>Bedford, Hitchin and Stevenage are all a short drive away. And being right on the A1 makes it ideal for commuters into Cambridge. Plus it&#8217;s only 44 mins on a direct train to London St Pancras – just enough time to enjoy your coffee and croissant while catching up on a couple of emails.</p>
