Shuttleworth Weddings & Hire, Biggleswade
This impressive Grade-II listed weddings and events venue offers a majestic setting with its extensive parkland, refined charm and stunning spaces. It will make any occasion one to remember.
It’s easy to see why Shuttleworth House is described as a hidden gem. The former home of the Shuttleworth family, this Grade-II* listed estate (built in 1872) is set in 4,500 acres of parkland in rural Bedfordshire. While the setting is magical, it’s conveniently located 2 miles from the A1 at Biggleswade and 20 miles from J13 on the M1.
Beautiful on both the inside and out, the estate offers four unique spaces that can cater for all kinds of weddings, meetings and dinners. From intimate gatherings through to lavish celebrations, Shuttleworth is an impressive place to say ‘I do’ or host a private celebration.
The stately Victorian house – all sweeping staircase, high ceilings, breath-taking views – offers an array of impressive rooms (five of which are licensed for civil ceremonies) and can accommodate up to 150 guests. Or if you prefer something al fresco, opt for The Summer House in The Sunken Garden overlooking the lily pond.
Then there’s the nine-acre Swiss Garden with its Regency-style allure. You can tie the knot in the pretty Swiss Cottage or the elegant Grotto and Fernery. Need something bigger? The 425-acre parkland (known as Old Warden Park) can host lavish celebrations for up to 5,000 guests.
And finally, there’s no need to worry about where you and your party will sleep, as you can always book accommodation on site. Choose between The Garden Suite and a one-bedroom flat overlooking the parkland.
Shuttleworth House also works alongside three preferred external caterers and they can provide everything from five-star dining through to small-scale buffet lunches. So, with the venue and catering taken care of all you need to do is focus on enjoying your special day.
