Whether you’re after an intimate affair with a handful of guests or a lavish do for up to 2000, you can be as picky as you like at Shuttleworth (bridezilla, moi?!). Located adjacent to former monastery, Warden Abbey, within Old Warden Park in Biggleswade, this stunning estate is brimming with unique spots to hold your Big Day, so you can really make it your own.

The Grade II* Jacobean-style house has 12 stately rooms with Arts and Crafts décor – five of which are licensed for ceremonies – where you can make like Lord and Lady of the manor for the day. Or if you’d prefer something al fresco, plump for The Summer House in The Sunken Garden, overlooking the lily pond – Bridgerton eat your heart out!

Then there’s the romantic Regency Swiss Garden – nine acres of scenic parkland and woodland with water features, where peacocks, ducks and other wildlife roam freely – for a magical ceremony. Choose to tie the knot in the pretty Swiss Cottage or the elegant Grotto and Fernery. Or – something you can’t do at other country house venues – enjoy your wedding breakfast in an aircraft hanger amongst remarkable pieces of aviation and automotive history from the Shuttleworth Collection. Finally, there’s the option to have a marquee or tipi within Old Warden Park with the impressive house as your backdrop.

Spoiled for choice? At least you won’t need to worry about where you and your wedding party will sleep, as you can have the run of the place, with 31 single, twin and triple bedrooms, The Garden Suite and a one-bedroom flat overlooking the parkland.

But you don’t have to get married here to enjoy everything that Shuttleworth has to offer. Book tickets to explore the house, gardens and Collection throughout the year or check out the programme of impressive family and themed airshows during the summer months, as well as seasonal events such as fairs, trails, workshops and tours.
