<p>Explore the monumental pieces by one of the most influential and best known sculptors of our time, Hertfordshire&#8217;s own Henry Moore, at his former home and <a href="https://henry-moore.org/studios-and-gardens/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">sculpture gardens</a> in Perry Green. Wonder round the 70 acre site in your own time, taking in 20 of Moore&#8217;s sculptures, and peek inside the various studios where he worked on his ideas. </p>

<p>Take a stroll along the <a href="https://www.rivercolnewatford.co.uk/sculptures" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">River Colne</a> and discover a series of sculptures by Tamara Froud. From a chalk boulder to a dragonfly perched on a rock and a fallen tree trunk, each piece is designed to be touched and explored, reflecting the natural beauty and wildlife of Radlett Road.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-nature-trail-broxbourne">NATURE TRAIL, BROXBOURNE</h2>

<p>Here&#8217;s a lovely <a href="https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/media-library/documents/environment-and-planning/countryside-management-service/places-to-visit/broxbourne-woods/broxbourne-wood-sculpture-trail.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">sculpture trail</a> to do with the family. This gentle and accessible 1km circuit around Broxbourne Wood makes up part of Hertfordshires only National Nature Reserve, and features nine, mainly wood-carved, sculptures to find along the way. These include a life-size Roman soldier, an acorn-shaped seat and a magnificent metal stag hiding amongst the trees. You might also spot some local wildlife including butterflies, green woodpeckers, slow worms and lizards while you&#8217;re there. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-natural-sculpture-trail-leighton-buzzard">NATURAL SCULPTURE TRAIL, LEIGHTON BUZZARD</h2>

<p><a href="https://www.greensandtrust.org/rushmere-country-park" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Rushmere Country Park</a> has 400 acres of woodlands and heathland to explore, including a range of walking routes for all abilities and stamina levels. The fab natural sculpture trail with its carved creatures, giant chairs and secret fairy doors hidden in the trees will help to keep those little legs moving along if you&#8217;ve got kids in tow, and I love the <em>Where the Wild Things Are</em> gate to nowhere – great for those Insta shots, plus there are nature rubbing posts dotted along the routes too, so pack a notebook and crayons. </p>

<p>There are over 30 pieces of public art across Milton Keynes’ parks, just on the Beds border, which range from the curious concrete cows to the striking Triple Star Head at Furzton Lake and an imposing steel head which uses 2D shapes to create the illusion of a 3D form. <p>Cross the border into Buckinghamshire and discover the garden art at <a href="https://waddesdon.org.uk/your-visit/grounds/art-in-the-garden/?srsltid=AfmBOoqJ62fxdCMj7FEbW_Vjr1v7IQOzgOdcv4Vc4se0pq10ug4saXCM" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Waddesdon Manor</a>. Throughout the winter the outdoor 18th-century and contemporary sculptures are wrapped for protection, but with the arrival of spring they are slowly being unveiled &#8211; so now you can admire them in all their glory.</p>

<p>Did you know that the University of Hertfordshire Arts + Culture in Hatfield boasts a fantastic collection of sculpture by iconic artists such as Barbara Hepworth and Andy Goldsworthy? The University occasionally opens its gates for set dates to invite visitors in to explore the collection displayed around the campus&#8217; green spaces and currently you can view the <a href="https://www.uharts.co.uk/whats-on/2026/enchanted-alchemies?_ga=2.190254184.25281793.1773312893-1475354967.1773312893&amp;_gl=1*1luizy3*_ga*MTQ3NTM1NDk2Ny4xNzczMzEyODkz*_ga_MVFJRD112X*czE3NzMzMTI4OTMkbzEkZzAkdDE3NzMzMTI4OTMkajYwJGwwJGgw" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Enchanted Alchemies</a> exhibition. Featuring a number of beautiful sculpture and metalwork pieces, the exhibition is FREE and explores magic and mystery. On <strong>until April 24</strong>.</p>
