Then head to South Mill Arts on June 17 and view the first England game of the 2026 Men&#8217;s World Cup on the gigantic cinema screen (it&#8217;s the biggest screen in Bishop&#8217;s Stortford you know). Entry free. From 6pm. Alternatively, the big screen over at <a href="https://watfordpalacetheatre.co.uk/events/the-england-vs-croatia-game/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Watford Palace Theatre</a> means you won&#8217;t miss a single England goal. Doors open 7.30pm. And there&#8217;s not one, but two huge screens showing all the live action over at <a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/world-cup-at-sopers-house-tickets-1989982174252" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sópers House</a> in Cuffley. Plus there&#8217;ll be DJs, food, and drink to keep energy levels high (get there early as seating is first come, first served). Meanwhile, over in Bedford, book a table at <a href="https://www.dparys.co.uk/world-cup-2026/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">d&#8217;Parys</a> and enjoy some top-notch pre-match pub food before yelling support at the big indoor screen.

Fancy catching a bit of al fresco culture? Head to the Roman Theatre Festival in St Albans where OVO is presenting <a href="https://ovo.org.uk/shows/sherlock-holmes/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sherlock Holmes</a>, a thrilling new mashup of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic novels (5-20 June). This is followed by a fast and funny three-actor retelling of <a href="https://ovo.org.uk/shows/the-scarlet-pimpernel/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Scarlet Pimpernel</a> (25 &#8211; 27 June) presented by Ha Hum Ah. Catch both at the outdoor Roman Theatre of Verulamium. Read the book? Seen the movie? Now catch the play. Gripping psychological thriller <a href="https://www.abbeytheatre.org.uk/whats-on/girl-on-the-train/#book-online" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Girl on the Train</a> is at Abbey Theatre, St Albans 12 &#8211; 20 June. And good news! <a href="https://www.broadway-gallery.com/whats-on/letchworth-open-exhibition-2026/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Letchworth Open Exhibition</a> is back for a sixth year and will be showcasing a huge range of artwork including painting, print, photography and more from artists across Letchworth, Hertfordshire and the surrounding counties. 17 June &#8211; 25 July.

 The one-and-only <a href="https://beamhertford.co.uk/whats-on/ls-ruby-wax-absolutely-famous/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ruby Wax</a> is Absolutely Famous at BEAM Theatre, Hertford on June 23. Expect to hear scandalous stories as she spills all about the celebrities she&#8217;s met and interviewed during her career. Bestselling author of The Secret Diary of a British Muslim Aged 13 3⁄4 and Live at the Apollo star, <a href="https://oldtownhall.co.uk/events/tez-ilyas-tez-things-i-hate-about-you-wip" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tez Ilyas</a> is at The Old Town Hall ahead of his massive nationwide Tez Things I Hate About You tour. On 27 June.

The annual <a href="https://www.enjoystalbans.com/event/alban-day-2025/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Alban Day: Pilgrimage &amp; Festival</a> (20 June) is always a blast with 10-foot puppets paraded down the streets of St Albans in celebration of Britain’s first Christian martyr, Alban. Entertainment includes games and activities, jester performances plus stacks of music and food. Jiveswing is back with their fifth <a href="https://jiveswing.com/wgcvintagefest/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Vintage Festival</a> at Welwyn Garden City from 19-21 June. Expect world class musicians, cabaret, free dance classes (for adults and kids) and a kids fun zone plus food vans and more. And talking of food, the <a href="https://www.williamsitwell.com/upcoming-event/sitwell-food-safari-harpenden-2026/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sitwell Food Safari</a> in Harpenden is back for another year (19 June). Hosted by MasterChef critic William Sitwell enjoy a tour of the town’s best hospitality. Fancy a picnic instead? Warden Abbey Vineyard are hosting a <a href="https://wardenvineyard.org.uk/event/flying-day-afternoon-picnic-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Flying Day Picnic</a> on 27 &amp; 28 June, where you can take in all the action from the nearby Shuttleworth Airshow while sitting among the vines with chilled wine from the marquee. And don&#8217;t miss the <a href="https://www.discoverletchworth.co.uk/festival/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Letchworth Festival </a>of arts, heritage, food and drink &#8211; it&#8217;s happening throughout the month of June (now until 28 June) &#8211; expect storytime, walks, music festivals, craft markets and more.

It&#8217;s a heartwarming cinematic and musical celebration&nbsp;of Wallace &amp; Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Timmy Time and more Aardman creations all accompanied live by a world class orchestra. Or how about some <a href="https://baileyhills.co.uk/products/jazz-in-the-vines" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jazz in the Vines</a>? Yes, Bailey Hills Estates in Bishop&#8217;s Stortford is hosting an afternoon of swing &amp; sparkle on 28 June.

June also marks a month-long celebration of nature with the Wildlife Trust&#8217;s <a href="https://www.wildlifebcn.org/30DaysWild" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">30 Days Wild</a> Campaign. Sign up to do one wild activity every day, from having an al fresco breakfast to going on a barefoot walk. <a href="https://hertfordshirezoo.com/news/summer-evenings-at-hertfordshire-zoo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Summer Evenings at the Zoo</a> return to Hertfordshire Zoo this month, with late opening every Saturday throughout June. Watch the animals as the sun sets and explore the animatronic World of Dinosaurs from 6.30pm &#8211; 9.30pm. There&#8217;s a Mexican theme this year so expect plenty of Margaritas, Mariachi Bands and Mexican street food too. Over at Hertford Castle enjoy <a href="https://www.hertford.gov.uk/events-listings/cars-at-the-castle-6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cars at the Castle</a> featuring live music, stacks of food and drink stalls and, of course, a huge range of modern, classic and vintage cars and motorcycles. Here&#8217;s something different. Celebrate dad this Father&#8217;s Day with the family-friendly <a href="https://hatfield-house.co.uk/event/landies-on-the-lawn/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Landies on the Lawn</a> at Hatfield Park on 21 June. View a range of iconic Land Rovers, then take the kids for a ride in a Mini Rover. There&#8217;s a specially designed off-road course suitable for ages 4-10 years. And there&#8217;s more entertainment for dad over at Knebworth House with a <a href="https://knebworthhouse.com/Event/medieval-jousting/?wcs_timestamp=1782037800" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Medieval Jousting</a> display on 21 June. Watch costumed Knights on majestic warhorses charging at each other across the arena at 12pm &amp; 2.30pm. For a fun family day out you can&#8217;t beat an airshow at the fabulous Shuttleworth Estate. The <a href="https://www.shuttleworth.org/events/festival-of-flight-air-show" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Festival of Flight</a> (27 &#8211; 28 June) is THE event for watching an incredible line up of aircraft take to the skies, plus there are also family activities including simulators, parades and funfair rides. What&#8217;s more, kids go FREE!
