<p>Three time Muddy Award winner for Best Boutique Stay, this glamping site on a family farm in rural Bedfordshire features four verrrry comfortable cabins (ok, ok, it&#8217;s not canvas, but it&#8217;s not bricks and mortar either, so we&#8217;re calling it glamping!) which each sleep up to 6 people. They come with comfy beds and sofas, bijou kitchenettes, a private decking and garden area, firepits, two even have hot tubs &#8211; now you&#8217;re talking! &#8211; and (whisper it so the diehard campers don&#8217;t hear you) heating, making them a year-round option. </p>



<p>Plus, you can add on all sorts of little extras to make your stay extra lovely, from pre-ordered breakfast box, packed with pastries or local bacon and eggs, to BBQ boxes (veggie options available)and firepit pack with logs, marshmallow forks and Smore-making ingredients! Or treat yourself to an in-cabin massage. This is classy camping.</p>

<p>It might not be a permanent site, but Wild Canvas is a pop-up camping experience with a festival vibe that&#8217;s returning to the riverside meadow in the grounds of the grand Turvey House this year from 25 July &#8211; 27 August. <p>This lovely family run farm in the Chess Valley has some seriously quirky glamping lodges, which will make the kids (and big kids!) squeal with delight. You&#8217;ll have a hoot at the Owl&#8217;s Lookout, which has a hot tub, sauna and, um&#8230; slide! Then there&#8217;s the creatively designed Bee Hive, retro themed Dinky Disc, the Sheep&#8217;s Retreat shepherd&#8217;s hut, the hot tub Tree house (accessed by a suspension bridge!), and The Hut &#8211; a Hagrid-inspired stay for Harry Potter fans. Plus the newest offering, Hilly Hideaway IS a refurbished hut with a fully equipped kitchen, roll-top bath (and hot outdoor bath!). </p>



<p>While you&#8217;re there, the activity options are as eclectic as the accommodation &#8211; book yourself a relaxing massage, take a trip to the nearby Warner Brothers Studio Tour or try a round or two of Disc Golf. Or just take in the local scenery with some walks and pub lunches. </p>

<p>The perfect off-grid getaway: A souped-up safari tent that sleeps 7, on its own private deck within the grounds of a 22-acre smallholding. Bedding, blankets and hot water bottles are all included, as are towels and toiletries so no need to pack them. There&#8217;s a fully equipped kitchen stocked with storecupboard essentials (including locally ground coffee!), a solar-powered fridge and woodburning stove (you can pre-order home-cooked meals to warm up on the stove, if you don&#8217;t fancy cooking from scratch). The kids will enjoy raiding the outdoor chest for garden games and whizzing round on the toy tractor and go-kart, while you book a reflexology or yoga sesh and send the hubs out fishing! </p>

<p>With sustainability at its heart, this collection of lodges is run by the Clophill Heritage Trust. Its work includes the restoration of St Mary&#8217;s Church, which can be seen from the site, and is now an idyllic picnic spot and alternative wedding venue. Naturally the eco creds are impressive &#8211; it&#8217;s virtually off grid, with its own water borehole and ground source heat pump. The lodges themselves (four &#8211; sleeping a total of 18) offer flexible configuration of rooms, making it ideal for group stays. There&#8217;s a central guest lounge, kitchen and firepit/BBQ area (so you&#8217;ll have to be friendly with your neighbours!).</p>



<p>Being halfway along the Greensand Ridge Walk makes this a popular stop off for ramblers and there are often activities and workshops going on from yoga and reiki to guided walks and retreats. </p>
