Shop for unique gifts, delight in a flurry of snow from the snow cannon, and take the kids (at extra cost on the day) to an Elf Workshop Experience and a Christmas pudding bucking bronco. <p>Ashridge House illuminated is Hertfordshire’s biggest Christmas light trail with twinkly lights galore. You’ll find huge installations plus a festive food village packed with yuletide treats. This Saturday is sold out but be quick, nab yourself a <strong>Sunday evening ticket </strong>and enjoy some mega-watt joy.</p>

<p>If you love vintage planes and vehicles then head over to Shuttleworth in Biggleswade. Their world famous collection of aircraft, carriages and motorbikes are decked out in colourful lights and there’s also a Swiss garden to enjoy with fountains and bridges all lit up in festive finery. The Square and Middle Row will be packed out with stalls for two evening markets: <strong>13 – 14 Dec (3pm – 8pm)</strong> and one daytime one: <strong>15 Dec (10am – 3pm)</strong>. Live music on stage from local groups, festive kids’ crafts, and a FREE Santa’s grotto and children’s ride guaranteed to get you in the mood for Yuletide.</p>

<p>There are festive activities galore at Bedford Winter Wonderland this weekend. Santa’s grotto is sold out but you can still ride the Big Wheel, walk through a maze of over 300 Christmas trees and take to the ice on the skating rink. Stop at the Alpine food and drink village to keep your energy up then meet Father Christmas in his grotto, wander through the magical forest, make reindeer food, decorate gingerbread men with Mother Christmas, and create your own cuddly bear to take home. <p>This one is over the border in Bucks but Waddesdon Manor is worth the journey. Browse over 70+ artisan stalls set in cute little chalets and gorge on everything from&nbsp;artisan kebabs to glazed doughnuts in the bespoke Food Village. Be sure to also explore the illuminated gardens which this year follows the story of Sleeping Beauty. Wander through the indoor installations and get lost between the trees outside, all lit up by a kaleidoscope of colour. <strong>Limited tickets available this Fri, Sat and Sun.</strong></p>
