<p>For a whole day out, head straight to Cammas Hall. Not only is it bursting with pumpkins, it also has a giant erupting volcano, huge pumpkin mosaic and stacks of spooky tunnels. There&#8217;s even a Halloween dinosaur-themed maze. Feeling brave? Explore the seriously scary Terror Tunnel after dark &#8211; suitable for 12 years and upwards. Tickets from £6.95.</p>

<p>While you may have visited in the summer months to pick armfuls of fragrant lavender, this time of year is all about pumpkins and the dedicated patch is open from <strong>18 &#8211; 31 October</strong>. There&#8217;ll be props and backdrops for those Insta moments, street food and hot drinks, plus it&#8217;s dog friendly. Book in advance to secure a one-hour entry slot and you can stay until it closes at 5pm. From £3.14 per person. </p>

<p>Okay, this one is just over the Beds border but is worth the visit just to see the vast variety of pumpkins on offer alone (90 different types!). Plus there are loads of insta-worthy opps and entertainment with stilt walking, hula hoop workshops and bubble magic from the resident witches. Kids will love toasting marshmallows over the fire-pits while you refuel with food and drink in the marquee. Want more? <p>Pick and choose your pumpkins on this 5-acre plot at a secret farm location in Moggerhanger. There are loads of different varieties of pumpkin and squash to pick, as well as a straw maze, pumpkin canon, mini tractors, a spooky beach, climbing activities, trails and space hoppers to enjoy, too. There&#8217;ll also be some extra paid-for activities including family tractor rides and face painting. Food and drink will also be on offer, from burgers to hog roast and veggie options, as well as a licensed bar. Tickets £4 (under 3s are free), then pumpkins cost from £1 to £10 each.  </p>

<p>This popular Potten End farm shop near Berkhamsted usually has some cool displays including scarecrow characters and spooky sights, plus tonnes of pumpkins in all shapes, sizes and colours &#8211; keep an eye on socials for info on opening times. Entry is free and there&#8217;s no booking required, just pay for your pickings. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-pop-up-farm-near-harpenden"><a href="https://thepopupfarm.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The <strong>Pop-Up Farm</strong></a>, near Harpenden</h2>



<p>This family-run farm hosts a number of seasonal pop-up events throughout the year and right now, tickets are available for their pumpkin festival. It&#8217;s great for little ones as they can have free rein to roam around the 12-acre patch, or ride around in a wheelbarrow, which you can use if you&#8217;re collecting more than you can carry. Book your hour-long slot in advance. Tickets from £7.15 per person (under 2s go free).  </p>

<p>This Peter Rabbit themed farm, near St Albans is holding its annual Pumpkin Festival from on <strong>11/12, 18/19 </strong>and<strong> 24-31 Oct</strong>, with a picking patch, pumpkin hunt, gourd grotto, funfair rides, Halloween maze, plus all the usual programme of animal-based shenanigans. Tickets from £19.95 per person including all shows and activities and one free pumpkin per paying child. </p>

You&#8217;ll need to buy an entry ticket for £7.95, then it&#8217;s an extra £4.95 to pick and carve a pumpkin, and £3.50 for a horrid hay tractor ride. Dogs welcome. </p>
