<p>Definitely not for the faint hearted, but if you can take your x-rated horror and gore, give this immersive experience a try. Imagine being thrown straight into the middle of a real-life horror movie with costumes actors, terrifyingly lifelike costumes and props and amazing special effects. There are 6 life-action horror mazes, from Howl Valley High to Squealers Yard, with varying scare ratings, plus there&#8217;ll be live music from the house Halloween band, with a band-e-oke if you wanna get on the mic, and DJs, as well as street food stalls &#8211; if you&#8217;ve got the stomach for it! </p>

<p>Ready to get spooked off your seat? There&#8217;s a whole host of scary theatre coming up for Halloween &#8211; starting with a double bill of ghost stories at The Old Town Hall in Hemel, called <em><a href="https://oldtownhall.co.uk/events/haunted" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Haunted</a></em>, on <strong>20 October</strong>, plus a triple whammy of <em><a href="https://www.abbeytheatre.org.uk/whats-on/hauntings/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hauntings</a></em> at The Abbey Theatre on <strong>21 October</strong>.</p>



<p>Danny Robins, creator of a series of smash hit Radio 4 paranormal podcasts, investigates real-life stories of ghost encounters to UFO sightings in <a href="https://watfordpalacetheatre.co.uk/events/uncanny-i-know-what-i-saw/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Uncanny: I Know What I Saw</a>, at Watford Palace Theatre on <strong>24 October</strong>.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.abbeytheatre.org.uk/whats-on/wind-rush-generations/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wind/Rush Generation(s)</a> delves into Britain’s Colonial past as a group of History students use a ouija board to contact a troublesome ghost at the Abbey Theatre from <strong>25 – 28 October</strong>. And there’s an adaptation of Dickens’ ghost stories in <a href="https://www.grovetheatre.co.uk/the-haunting-i4358" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Haunting</a> on <strong>26 October </strong>at Grove Theatre Dunstable.</p>



<p>Finally, at the Old Town Hall in Hemel Hempstead, catch <a href="https://oldtownhall.co.uk/events/casting-the-runes" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Casting the Runes</a> &#8211; a new adaptation of M.R. James’ classic ghost stories on <strong>27 October</strong> &#8211; and <a href="https://oldtownhall.co.uk/events/whats-your-poison" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">What’s Your Poison</a>, a Victorian true crime about  a series of unexplained sudden deaths on <strong>28 October</strong>.</p>

This fun LED and glowsticks paddle with Canoe Trail at Kempston Outdoor Centre on <strong>27 Oct</strong> might change your mind. £19 for adults, £10 for kids (if you do want to bring them!). Canoes will be decorated with glowing LED strips and you&#8217;re encouraged to adorn yourself with glow sticks. Hot choccie provided. </p>

<p>hools Museum in Hitchin, which will take you around the eeriest parts of the town as the guide shares ghost stories that have been told about the area for hundreds of years. Finish with an after-hours tour of the 200-year old school site, where many paranormal and unexplained events have taken place, too. Strictly over 16s only! </p>

Well now you can learn with fungi expert The Foraging Mermaid. And apparently it&#8217;s been a good year for mushrooms! Learn how to identify food in the forest and get tips on what to look for and how to eat it. </p>
